Dental Care and Hygiene
The health of your teeth and gums requires regular care and cleaning. Bad oral hygiene may lead to serious dental and oral health issues and would require burdensome treatments. Even after receiving treatment, you would have to maintain good dental hygiene to avoid having similar issues from emerging.
People around the world suffer from tooth decays and diseases related to their gums. These diseases and infections may lead to problems in chewing and speech, malnutrition and loss of confidence in social interactions.
In order to avoid these issues from arising, good dental and oral hygiene is a must. This requires daily care, cleaning and avoiding certain practices that may harm your teeth.
Brushing
Brushing is the key to oral and dental hygiene. Regularly brushing your teeth severely diminishes the chance of dental diseases. Without regular brushing, other types of dental care will not be effective, so brushing is a must. It is recommended that you brush your teeth at least twice a day. Otherwise, food pieces may stick between your teeth and cause many dental problems.
While brushing your teeth, it is advised to brush in a circular motion and contact all sides of the tooth. Rather than aggressively and quickly brushing, you should brush slowly and carefully. Lightly brushing all sides of your teeth should take approximately 2-3 minutes.
Flossing
Flossing has been one of the most effective dental care routines along with brushing. Certain spaces between your teeth may host food pieces that you can’t reach with your brush. Flossing solves this problem perfectly. Those using flossing suffer significantly less from dental diseases than those who do not floss regularly.
Flossing also solves your problems regarding bad breath. You can reach all parts of teeth and get rid of any pieces that may cause bad breath over time. Therefore, if you have bad breath, it is highly suggested that you start flossing regularly. You may consult our dentists for further issues regarding flossing.
Water flosser
Water flossers are becoming more and more popular nowadays. It is mostly used to replace traditional flossers as a complementary dental and oral hygiene routine. As the name suggests, water flossers floss water on your teeth and gums, which leads to a deeper cleaning. You can get rid of any food that is stuck between your teeth, while also cleaning your gums with water regularly.
Unlike traditional flossers, water flosser does not harm your teeth and gums during the cleaning process as it is not abrasive. It does not lead to issues such as bleeding that is common with traditional flossers.
Mouthwash
Mouthwash products are quite effective in providing additional dental care. Using mouthwash product after or before brushing and flossing may help you remove certain particles and bacteria not only from your teeth, but from your entire mouth.
Mouthwash products are essentially used to have fresh breath. They do a better job at getting rid of bad breath than brushing and flossing can ever do. However, the fresh breath you get from these products are not often long-lasting.
